Warehouse and logistics
Receiving, cycle counts, dock events and returnable assets.
Cartons, pallets, returnable units, rack locations and dock-stage records.
Mixed loads, nearby movement and a read zone that is wider than the intended handoff.
Run receiving or cycle-count samples through normal operator movement and reconcile the result to WMS.
CONTEXT WORKFLOW
- 01Receive and identify
Assign the item or load-unit identity at the first controlled handoff and keep the expected quantity visible.
- 02Confirm the movement
Use the selected read point and operator action to distinguish receiving, put-away, transfer and dispatch.
- 03Reconcile the exception
Route missing, duplicate or unexpected identities to a person before changing the inventory or custody record.
- 04Post the handoff
Send the accepted movement, location and time to WMS with a supportable retry and recovery path.
STARTING COMPONENTS
- Carton, pallet or returnable-unit tags
- Handheld reader for counts and exceptions
- Fixed reader or portal for a bounded dock event
- Directional antenna, trigger and WMS connector
SYSTEM HANDOFF
Warehouse events should post to WMS only after identity, location, movement and exception rules have been applied.
