A shortlist is useful only when every candidate is compared against the same item, movement, system and acceptance target.
01 / NOTE DE TERRAIN
Define the unit
Decide whether the workflow identifies an item, case, pallet, tool, container or another unit. Record the hierarchy when multiple levels coexist.
02 / NOTE DE TERRAIN
Describe the environment
Record surface, liquid, metal, density, temperature, chemicals, attachment, lighting and operator conditions that can change the read or replacement process.
03 / NOTE DE TERRAIN
Compare the interaction
Choose between mobile, workstation and fixed patterns based on where the operator or item is during the event. Include tags, antennas, mounts and software in the comparison.
04 / NOTE DE TERRAIN
Compare the complete scope
Include media, encoding, readers, antennas, mounting, network, application work, integration, training, support and replacement effort. A device-only shortlist hides the operating decision.
05 / NOTE DE TERRAIN
Set an acceptance target
Define what counts as a useful result: read coverage, event correctness, operator time, exception handling, system posting and recovery. Measure it with representative samples.
06 / NOTE DE TERRAIN
Record and retest the choice
Keep the candidates, tested conditions, configuration, observations, rejected cases and acceptance decision together. Re-test when the item, site, workflow or system boundary changes.
